So Egg-Sighting
Sculpture
So Egg-Sighting is a sculpture of a flying wrench. Who has settled down between the grape vines to eat from a bowl of nuts and bolts. The sculpture is one in a series of flying tools I’ve been working on. I enjoy working with my hands and found the idea of characterizing the tools as living animate objects to be fun and whimsical. The Sculpture was originally sculpted in clay. From there a rubber mold was taken of the clay model, and the final sculptures was cast in resin. The resin casting was then given a painted patina to help create the illusion of age and material.
