Complete this entry form to participate in the 8th Annual Exhibit of The National Arts Program® for the State of Delaware employees and their family members.  There is no fee to enter the program.

Eligibility

  • Participants must be an employee or an immediate family member of an employee of the State of Delaware.
  • Only 1 entry per artist will be admitted.
  • All entries submitted must be the original work of the applicant completed within the last three years.
  • Not accepted: kits; paint-by number pieces; photocopies or photographs of artwork; magazine or book illustrations, random snapshots.
  • The National Arts Program® and the Delaware Division of the Arts reserve the right to disqualify entries they consider to be unacceptable or inappropriate for a public exhibit.

Adult
  • Amateur – a person with little or no experience
  • Intermediate – a person with some experience, beginning art students, etc
  • Professional – a person with serious art training or employed in an art-related job

Artwork will be judged in the classification of the artist’s selection; however, in some cases, the exhibition judges will make the final determination.

Preparing Entries
  • Entrants may submit only one entry which fit into the listed medium categories.
  • All artwork will need an NAP identification label placed on the back (provided at drop off).
  • All 2-dimensional entries should be matted, framed and/or ready to hang with wire securely on the back.
  • All work must measure no more than 40” in any direction or weigh more than 40lbs unless otherwise stipulated.
  • Artwork that does not meet size limitations or specifications will be disqualified before judging.

Rules of Exhibit

  • Deadline This Registration Form must be received no later than January 25, 2019Space is limited. Only the first 300 entries will be accepted.
  • Delivering Entries All entries must be delivered to the Delaware State University Arts Center/Gallery of the William C. Jason Library located at 1200 DuPont Highway, Dover from February 11 - 16, 2019.  Gallery hours during delivery week will be emailed to all registrants and posted on the Division of the Arts website at arts.delaware.gov.
  • Reception & Awards A reception and presentation of awards will be held at the Longwood Auditorium of the Bank of America Building on March 17, 2019 from 1pm - 3pm.
    • Prizes will be awarded by classification:
      • Adult (Amateur, Intermediate and Professional): 3 - First Place Awards of $350; 3 - Second Place Awards of $250; and 3 - Third Place Awards of $150
      • A Best of Show Award of $400
      • Youth / Teen : 2 - First Place Awards of $150; 2- Second Place Awards of $100; and 2 - Third Place Awards of $50
      • An Art Education Award of $200
    • Additional awards including Honorable Mentions will be awarded at the discretion of the judges.
    • Awards are limited to one cash award per artist per classification.
  • Public Exhibit The exhibit is free and open to the public from February 25 - March 18, 2019.
  • Retrieving Entries Each artist is responsible for retrieving his/her artwork from the Delaware State University Arts Center/Gallery from March 18 - 23, 2019. Gallery hours during pick up week will be emailed to all registrants and posted on the Division of the Arts website at arts.delaware.gov.  No work is to be removed prior to the end of the exhibition. Neither the State of Delaware, the Delaware Division of the Arts, nor The National Arts Program® will be responsible for unclaimed works.
  • Liability Every attempt will be made to preserve, secure and protect each entry submitted; but neither The National Arts Program®, the State of Delaware, nor the Delaware Division of the Arts can be held responsible for damages, loss of art entries, or changes/cancellation of this exhibit due to low participation or unforeseen circumstances.  The placing of art in the exhibition constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant with conditions herein set forth.  The National Arts Program Foundation and the Delaware Division of the Arts reserve the right to publish for publicity purposes reproductions of the entries.  The National Arts Program® in the State of Delaware is a public exhibit and photographing/filming of the exhibit is encouraged.
