Complete this entry form to participate in the 8th Annual Exhibit of The National Arts Program® for the Rutgers University employees and their family members.​ There is no fee to enter the program.

Eligibility

  • Participants must be an employee or an immediate family member of an employee of the Rutgers University or an employee, volunteer, retiree, student, alumni of the Rutgers Health Sciences Campus, NJ.
  • Only 2 entries per artist will be admitted.
  • All entries submitted must be the original work of the applicant completed within the last three years.
  • Not accepted: kits; paint-by number pieces; photocopies or photographs of artwork; magazine or book illustrations, random snapshots.
  • The National Arts Program® and and the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School reserve the right to disqualify entries they consider to be unacceptable or inappropriate for a public exhibit.

Adult
  • Amateur – a person with little or no experience
  • Intermediate – a person with some experience, beginning art students, etc
  • Professional – a person with serious art training or employed in an art-related job

Artwork will be judged in the classification of the artist’s selection; however, in some cases, the exhibition judges will make the final determination.

Preparing Entries
  • Entrants may submit only two entries which fit into the listed medium categories.
  • All artwork will need an NAP identification label placed on the back (provided at drop off).
  • All 2-dimensional entries should be matted, framed and/or ready to hang with wire securely on the back.
  • All work must measure no more than 48” in any direction or weigh more than 50lbs unless otherwise stipulated.
  • Artwork that does not meet size limitations or specifications will be disqualified before judging.

Rules of Exhibit

  • Deadline This Registration Form must be received no later than January 11, 2019.
  • Delivering Entries All entries must be delivered to the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School located at 185 S. Orange Avenue on January 17, 2019 between 8am - 4pm.
  • Reception & Awards A reception and presentation of awards will be held at New Jersey Medical School, B552 on February 14, 2019 from 4pm - 5:30pm. Award recipients will be announced at 4:30pm.
    • Prizes will be awarded by classification:
      • Adult (Amateur, Intermediate and Professional): 3 - First Place Awards of $350; 3 - Second Place Awards of $250; and 3 - Third Place Awards of $150
      • Youth / Teen : 2 - First Place Awards of $150; 2- Second Place Awards of $100; and 2 - Third Place Awards of $50
      • A Best of Show Award of $400
      • An Art Education Award of $200
    • Honorable Mention Ribbons will be awarded at the discretion of the judges.
    • Awards are limited to one cash award per artist per category.

  • Public Exhibit The exhibit is free and will be open weekdays to the public from January 21 - March 13, 2019.
  • Retrieving Entries Each artist is responsible for retrieving his/her artwork from the New Jersey Medical School,  B515 on March 14, 2019 between 8am - 4pm.  No work is to be removed prior to the end of the exhibition. Neither New Jersey Medical School nor The National Arts Program® will be responsible for unclaimed works.
  • Liability Every attempt will be made to preserve, secure and protect each entry submitted; but neither The National Arts Program® nor Rutgers New Jersey Medical School can be held responsible for damages, loss of art entries, or changes/cancellation of this exhibit due to low participation or unforeseen circumstances.  The placing of art in the exhibition constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant with conditions herein set forth.  The National Arts Program Foundation and New Jersey Medical School reserve the right to publish for publicity purposes reproductions of the entries.  The National Arts Program® at New Jersey Medical School is a public exhibit and photographing/filming of the exhibit is encouraged.
