Welcome Jared Semisch our Social Media Curator for the Summer

Jared Semisch, NAP Social Media Curator for the Summer 2022

My name is Jared Semisch and I am currently a rising sophomore at George Washington University, majoring in Fine Arts and Psychology. I am Interning this summer with the National Arts Program (NAP).

I began the summer by gaining an understanding of what my focus will be for the next few months. I found out quickly we needed someone to support our online presence. I spent the first weeks reviewing past posts on both Instagram and Facebook and the overall website design. I communicated early where I thought we could create better opportunities for the social media side of the program. The team was very receptive and I got to work. I spent most of June centered around boosting our social media presence, our Facebook page, and think tanking website structure developments. Using our Instagram and Facebook pages I highlighted June for pride month (LGBTQIA+) artists and venues. I updated our logo used throughout the month as well and felt really accomplished by this work. In July I have been working to spotlight NAP artists who have uploaded to the website's online gallery page and our sponsored Venues. I look forward to my remaining time with NAP. I am learning a lot about many different aspects of the art world and it is motivating me to keep learning and working hard to maybe one day be a showcased artist myself!  I appreciate this opportunity and hope to continue to make an impact for NAP.

Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages to see my work!  #nationalartsinternJared

Thank you to NAP for giving me this opportunity!
