Miami Beach Celebrates Seventh Year with the NAP

On July 11th participants were honored at the Awards Reception for the Seventh Annual City of Miami Beach National Arts Program® Exhibit. The show was a beautiful display and decorated the walls of the 4th Floor Gallery in City Hall. In attendance were Commissioners, Michael Gongora and Ed Tobin, as well as Assistant City Managers, Max Sklar and Jorge Gomez.

Although there were some repeat winners there were also some new artists in the mix this year. After having participating every year since the very first NAP show occurred in Miami, Rianne Mitchell Thomas was honored for her work with a second place award.

Coordinator Gary Farmer has been running the show for the City of Miami since it started in 2006 and has always done a fantastic job of making the artists feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. Gary said that, “the staff and public love this show” and he supplied wonderful images from the exhibit that can be viewed anytime on their NAP flickr page.“Penti
