Harris Arts Center, GA Expands Eligibility and Extends Deadline

The Harris Arts Center recently invited the employees and their immediate family members of Calhoun City Schools, Gordon County Schools and Gordon County Campus of Georgia Northwestern Technical School to enter their personal visual artworks in the First Annual NAP exhibition sponsored by Harris Arts Center and the National Arts Program Foundation.
 
The artwork exhibit will be publicly displayed in the Harris Arts Center from September 12th – October 21st, with a reception and awards ceremony being held on September 22nd, 2011 from 4-6pm.
 
Eligibility for participation in the exhibit has now been expanded to include retired teachers, as well as those who volunteer and substitute teachers in the Calhoun City, Gordon County Schools and GCC of Georgia Northwestern Technical School. The deadline for registration has also been extended until August 31, 2011.
 
Never hide your talent; we want the public to see the artistic talents of current public school employees, retired teachers, substitutes, school volunteers, and their spouses and children up to age 18. It will be an open exhibit of all skill levels. Cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100 are to be awarded in each of the adult categories and $75, $50 and $25 in both the teen and youth groups, $300 best of show, along with Certificates of Participation in the National Arts Program®.
 
All eligible artists may enter at their personal skill level: Amateur, Intermediate, Professional, Teen 13-18 years and Youth 12 years of age and under.
 
Recognized artists and professionals will jury all works submitted following the Rules of Exhibit on the Registration Brochure which apply nationwide to 85 venues in 41 states. There is no fee to participate, but registrations must be received no later than August 31st.
