Fifth Year for Memorial Health Care System, TN

Coordinator Melissa Tinker has received nothing but praise for the Memorial Health Care System’s National Arts Program® exhibition from both visitors and staff. She commented that, “the exhibition brings a breath of fresh air to the busiest hallway in the hospital.” The artwork is installed in the hallway between the ER and Surgery waiting room, providing a welcome distraction to visitors to this area of the hospital.

Melissa was determined to increase participation for the Fifth Annual NAP Exhibition this year and achieved a 30% increase in the total number of pieces entered. Melissa credits these increases to speaking directly with employees during department staff meetings and encouraging them to enter their children’s artwork. The largest jump was in both the Youth 12 & Under and the Teen 13-18 categories.
