I took some classes working w/ clay in high school over 12 years ago and recently took a class at IUPUI/Herron School of Art. Beginning Wheel Throwing. I really enjoyed this class and look forward to taking more ceramics and other art classes through Herron. I am currently working in the Criminal Justice field dealing with abuse against the elderly and disabled over the age of 18 (Adult Protective Services). I recently decided to switch my degree from Criminal Justice to Art Education. My mother-in-law is a teacher at IPS and although she doesn't know it she inspires me. I have always loved art and remember that my art teacher and art classes in elementary were a pivotal point in my life. I hope to use art to reach out to our youth and I plan to use my experience in the Social Work and Criminal Justice field (10+ yrs exp) and apply it to my teaching. Here is some of my work from this past spring class. Works by the Artist
