This James Krenov-inspired chest on stand is made of hard maple and sapele wood. The stand is constructed with mortise and tennon joints, and the case is built with variably spaced dovetails on the corners. The doors echo the curves in the base, and the middle panels are veneered with sapele pomelle wood.

Gracefully curved lines define a very comfortable seat. Tiger maple top was power carved with an Arbortech blade on a grinder. Mahogany legs are carved in two planes. Ebony plugs pull the piece together. Finished with a spit coat of shellac and Watco Danish Oil - topped with paste furniture wax.
