Laura Angilee Murray believes in magic: Not the kind that makes coins appear or beautiful ladies disappear into boxes, but the kind that happens when someone looks at a work of art and feels that the artist is speaking directly to them.

Haunted by the history of her Southern roots, Laura's works are often emotionally charged. She cannot see where she begins and the canvas ends. Her early attempts at becoming a singer thwarted by a disastrous audition, Laura chose to use line, form and the human figure as her music.

Her current body of work revolves around the idea of gender fluidity. She has many theories that describe gender not as a dichotomy but as a range.
