Mary Stewart fell in love with fiber arts early in life. A BA in Fine Arts from Rosemont College helped her develop her sense of design, color and texture. After Mary relocated to Cape May from Philadelphia in 1986 and began working for the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC), she also began creating one-of- a-kind purses and knitted articles. Each piece is unique and Mary works largely without patterns, letting the texture and hand of the fabric and yarn dictate the final product. More recently, Mary has begun creating fabric collage, patterned after vintage crazy quilts.
