These items as the vast majority of ceramics start as bisque. Bisque is fired greenware which is created by pouring the slip (the ceramic mixture) into a mold and let stand for a set period of time depending on the consistency of the mix. This is then cleaned and prepared for painting. They can then be painted with acrylics or glazed.
This particular mold was painted with acrylic paints. I painted the gossamer wings and clouds with pearls in order to add greater dimension.
