Thirty Percent Increase in Participation for Detroit, Michigan

This year marked the Eighth Annual National Arts Program® Exhibition for the City of Detroit, Michigan. This year was a terrific display of art form the city employees and their family members. Coordinator Donna Miller did a very nice job of organizing the show and had wonderful feedback from those that took part. Of special note was the increase in participation this year, which Donna was able to raise by over thirty percent. The reception, which was held on April 28th at the Skillman Branch of the Detroit Public Library, had approximately 250 in attendance to celebrate.

Last year artist SuVon Treece took home third place in the professional category. This year her entry entitled “Noelle” won the overall Best of Show award which is a wonderful example of how artists are constantly growing and changing. Artists that enter every year have an opportunity to showcase their new skills and continued growth in the visual arts.
