'On Our Own Time' Employee Art Exhibit Call for Entries

Attention all artistic classified staff and appointed personnel, and their family members too!

The University of Arizona Staff Advisory Council and the National Arts Program present the annual "On Our Own Time" staff art exhibit.

This is the third year the National Arts Program is offering cash awards for the top entries, as long as the show has at least 100 participants.

So get out your paints, sculpture supplies, clay, cameras or whatever else you use to express your creativity, and put your hobbies and creative skill set – whether you're amateur, intermediate or professional-level – on display for everyone to enjoy. And who knows, you just might win a cash prize.

Last year, a splintered baseball bat sculpture won "Best in Show" and a $300 prize. (See story about last year's show here.)

The exhibit will take place March 18 through April 6 in the Gallery of the Student Union Memorial Center. It will be open to the public.

An opening reception will be held beginning at noon March 18.

Register online by Feb. 18. Entries will be accepted between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. March 4-8 in the Student Union Gallery.
