Hartford celebrated its 25th Annual National Arts Program® Exhibit this year with a display that included 250 pieces of art from the local community. Nancy Shapiro, who works tirelessly to organize this show each year, was honored with a token of appreciation from the National Arts Program® during their January 30th awards ceremony. When we asked Lena Rodriquez, President and CEO of CRT, if she would be willing to recognized Nancy during their NAP reception, she agreed without hesitation saying they would be thrilled to do so.

The awards ceremony was quite an event included live performances from Singer Aja Wilson and Singer Orice Jenkins, Pianist Warren Byrd, Bass Josh Uguccioni and Ekphrasis poetry readings from The Free Poets Collective that reflected each winning artwork. The edition of the Ekphrasis poetry was once again a hit with the attendees and brought a unique edge to the viewing experience. Over 300 families were in attendance to celebrate the exhibit this year and to enjoy the festivities. Nancy said that the National Arts Program® is truly a labor of love for her. Her love for the program is evident in its success and we thank her for all her many years of hard work and dedication.
