Indianapolis, IN Adds Artists Bios

This was the Fourth Year for Indianapolis and once again it was a beautiful showing of talent from the city employees, retirees, family members as well as city volunteers. Coordinator Kris May collected entries including ceramics, paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and more, and as usual the exhibit was beautifully hung in the Garfield Park Arts Center.

Their awards reception which was held on September 24th was well attended and included catering from Target Deli as well as live piano music by Glenda White.

As a new twist, this year Kris gave the artists the opportunity to submit artist bios or statements, which they included in a binder in the main gallery. We feel this was a great way to further engage visitors and allow the participants to share even more about themselves with the public. Many of the NAP coordinators take each annual show as an opportunity to add new elements to an already successful programs, and this is one such example.
