Artistic Talent Abounds at Reno-Tahoe International Airport

A view of the beautiful DepARTures Gallery showcasing just a portion of their 9th Annual National Arts Program® Exhibit.
A beautiful display of 135 artworks hung in the DepARTures Gallery within Reno-Tahoe International Airport this year for their NAP exhibit, which is in its ninth year. As always the program was coordinated by the amazing Kim Matthews.  Kim commented that, “the event continues to grow and we couldn’t be more pleased that so many of the departments and tenants were represented”.  The art in the show is created by employees of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, tenant employees of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, recent retirees, and their immediate family members. The exhibit therefore is a reflection of the airport’s employee family, but also the surrounding community as a whole. The traveling public that may not have the opportunity to spend much time passing through the area still have an opportunity to take in some of the culture, making a layover or delay in the airport a much more memorable one.

The awards reception was held on May 24th and was attended by Marily Mora, the President & CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport. No doubt the employees and their families are excited by the chance to showcase their talents and even more please that their President and CEO came to applaud them for their personal creative achievements. The National Arts Program® is so pleased that airports such as Reno-Tahoe have seen the many benefits of showcasing their employee’s talents and look forward to the continued growth of this tremendous exhibit.
