Another Tremendous Turnout for State of Delaware!

The 12th Annual State of Delaware NAP Exhibit displayed in the beautiful Delaware State University Arts Center/Gallery.

Kristin Pleasanton, Deputy Director of the Delaware Division of the Arts, continues to coordinate an amazing art exhibit for the entire State of Delaware. This showcase gives state employees and their immediate family members a unique opportunity to exhibit their creative work at any skill level and age and to compete for cash prizes. Kristin offered the following feedback on their 12th annual showcase. “The Delaware State Employee Art Exhibition continues to be a highly anticipated and successful event. Our continuing partnership with the Delaware State University Arts Center/Gallery ensures the exhibition is held in a professional gallery setting with access to students and the general public. The central location in the state makes it possible for residents in all parts of Delaware to be within an approx. driving distance of one hour.

Since it was so well-received last year, a Celebration Weekend was held at the Gallery in place of a formal reception and awards ceremony. It provided an opportunity to view the exhibition, showcase the winners, and enjoy refreshments, art activities, a scavenger hunt, and giveaways. Winners were recognized and received their certificates and awards as they arrived. This more casual event provided time for the artists to mix and mingle, talk about their art, and make new connections.

Social media platforms continued to be valuable in cultivating awareness of the Exhibition. All artwork was shared on Facebook, Flickr, and even on publishing site Issuu to view a presentation of the winners.”

This year’s exhibit included artworks from 198 artists and the celebratory awards weekend had over 400 attendees. We are so thankful to Kristin for her extraordinary efforts and her ability to produce an incredible showcase every year!
