Our Mission The National Arts Program® was established in 1983 to inspire, acknowledge, and reward creative accomplishment throughout the nation.
The operating mission of The National Arts Program® is to provide a free and uninhibited opportunity for people to come forth with their artistic talents, at whatever level, to be displayed professionally for public viewing. By removing the obstacles to artistic expression, the program gives participants a forum to expand and showcase their talent in the visual arts; this in turn gives them a sense of accomplishment, a sense of self-worth, and a more positive attitude in life. The program also encourages greater appreciation of art among the general public.
NOTE: The National Arts Program Foundation's exclusive purpose is to support The National Arts Program®. Other than the awards and continuing art education grants associated with the Program, it does not issue grants to nor does it give specific support to individual artists, or other arts agencies, foundations, or programs.
