"...This was our first year participating in the program. The hospital administration, staff and their family members embraced this endeavor wholeheartedly. We had over 200 entries for our first annual exhibition/competition. I received so many compliments and kudos for bringing this event to our institution. The Vice President of Professional Services said, 'you hit a home run with this one.' There are five galleries in the hospital complex and we host over 60 art exhibits by local and regional professional artists each year, however, many employees said, 'This was the best exhibit ever.' I could go on and on about the ease of the application process, employee satisfaction, The NAP's wonderful staff and their helpfulness (they treated me like I was their only client)..."

"We were so pleased to receive so many entries in our first year of the program. This is an excellent opportunity for our employees to display their creativity outside of the work environment and for their families to share their talents."
Mayor Seng, Lincoln, NE
"Each year I coordinate this exhibition and competition I am rewarded with such rich experiences. I was happy this year it was apparent that the artists were looking forward to entering and competing more for the scholarships."

"I was very fortunate to win a scholarship to the Art Center in St. Petersburg, FL during the first NAP Colors of Pinellas contest. Since then, I have taken three classes. My objective was to try different mediums. The first class I took was watercolors. We went to the St. Petersburg Pier to sketch boats. It was my first experience working outdoors. I next decided to take a course dealing with pastels. I was overwhelmed by the talent of the other artists. My professor kept telling me how well I was doing. I was encouraged by his compliments; and I will be displaying two pastel works that I completed in that class during the next NAP art contest. I just completed another course with mixed media. And I still have enough in my scholarship fund for two more classes. I am amazed how enjoyable it is and how I get lost in the art work; and before you know it, the class is over. I thank The National Arts Program for affording me this opportunity."

"This program allows employees to share a side of them they may not get to in the daily grind. It brings together people from every department and classification. Art is a great equalizer."
